Starry Homestead’s sprawling showroom at Paya Lebar was home to a spate of exciting activities over the weekend (24 & 25 Sep) as it celebrated its anniversary.

Held at the lounge, the renovation talk saw participants huddle for a heart-to-heart sharing session with the firm’s design consultants.

Participants were guided on how to check for defects in their new homes and plan for different renovation budgets.

The talk proved insightful for the participants, most of whom will be renovating their homes for the first time.

Chinese metaphysicists Venus Wang and Alvin were also on hand to dish out ‘八字’ (Ba Zi, or Eight Characters) advice and Feng Shui suggestions for the home respectively, while live painting demonstrations supplied painting tips and tricks to those eager for more hands-on renovation works.

For Wan Xiong and his wife, Pei Teng, these festivities were icing on the cake. The couple had brought their floor plans, which entitled them to a complimentary design consultation.

The showroom’s eclectic display of ready-made solutions for the bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom beckoned guests to get a taste of what their furnishings could look and feel like in a real-world setting.

Others like Victor and his wife, Ngan Mei, decided to sample their future home by strapping on a virtual reality (VR) headset.

It was their first time wearing a VR headset to tour a design ‘in person’, and they found it “innovative and impressive”.

But it wasn’t just an experience that the Swoos bagged. The couple walked away with a Xiaomi air purifier and $2,000 worth of Azora vouchers after signing up for a package at the event.

It was all smiles for Starry Homestead too as they were presented with Renotalk.com’s People’s Choice Awards.
