When done right, the monochromatic interior is beautifully balanced and boasts a natural serenity. It’s not really as one-dimensional as touted. Upon its white blank canvas, tonal black furniture pieces in varying textures provide high contrast to create the monochrome look. Lines used as an accent – no matter if on mirror, glass dividers or walls –  create a sense of continuity throughout the space. Since the colours used are so restrained, one can easily call to attention special features such as the tiled arched doorway that leads to the dining area.
